Job Description:

Our client a long established, marketing leading Newspaper Group is currently seeking to recruit an Advertising Sales Manager based in Galway to lead its print and on-line sales efforts.

Responsibilities:

Lead the sales team
Review structure of the department , roles and responsibilities of sales and support staff
Set individual and group sales targets and monitor achievements
Develop effective sales processes which will generate sustainable growth across all industry sectors
Set up an effective tele-sales function
Develop sales & pricing strategies for each sector of the business e.g. Property, Motoring, Entertainment, Classifieds, Recruitment, Retail, etc.
Be accountable for the department’s budget including forecasting and achieving sales targets, commission, discounts, etc.
Work with the editorial team to enhance existing products or develop new ones which will in turn drive increased sales
Be responsible for enhancing existing relationships and growing new ones
Evaluate competitor activity and develop appropriate responses
Enhance existing sales reporting
Work with the National Sales house in generating leads with National accounts.

Requirements:

Five or more years’ experience in a senior or managerial role in advertising sales in the newspaper industry
Proven managerial and leadership capabilities
Demonstrated experience in change management
Strong IT awareness
Vision for the changing nature of the print, on-line and other media advertising markets
Excellence at selling to large and small clients
Customer focussed
Target and deadline driven
Proven ability to work as part of a management team
