Job Description:
Our client is a leading supplier of print and print facilities management in the Yorkshire area, serving local and national companies alike with both project based print jobs and total print management services. This growing company are looking to recruit an experienced Estimator to join their already experienced successful team. The Role: The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are the minimum requirements for the position of Estimator Knowledge of Printing An Estimator must have a solid understanding of the printing industry. He/she must: - Know all printing processes and materials - Know cost centres of the printing company, including: - Art production - Pre-press procedures - Lithographic work - Press work - Binding and finishing Equipment Know capabilities and limitations of all equipment in plant, as well as the most economical method to manufacture any printing job Materials - Know purchasing costs - Have a working knowledge of paper pricing - Have a working knowledge of freight and transportation - Know competitive and capable vendors for work that must be out-sourced Communication - Have effective communication skills to consult with in-plant supervisors or to advise customers and sales force when necessary as to specifications for a job - MIS skills. Working knowledge of a print MIS - preferably Tharstern system. - Must be proactive to see and react to sales opportunities - Must have Account Handling experience The Package: The salary is negotiable depending on experience but circa 18-24k as a guide.
